Story: Yates What To Do In Your Garden this Weekend – Citrus Care
Episode: 2
Presenter: Angie Thomas
Air Date: 29 Aug 2026
Angie shares a simple three-step weekend routine to help keep citrus trees healthy, productive and producing plenty of delicious fruit.
- When planting a new citrus tree, improve the soil with Yates Dynamic Lifter. Blend it into the planting hole to add rich organic matter and nutrients, helping encourage healthy soil and longer root growth.
- Keep an eye out for citrus leaf miner, which causes leaves to distort and develop silvery tunnels. As soon as new growth appears, spray OCP eco-pyrethrum PLUS over the leaves every 5–14 days to help prevent the pest. Also watch for aphids, scale and bronze, orange bug, which can be sprayed directly when spotted.
- Feed your citrus regularly with Yates Dynamic Lifter Fruit & Citrus pellets. Apply them around the root zone every 8 weeks and water in well to provide the nutrients citrus trees need for healthy foliage, flowers and fruit.
- With a simple routine of planting, feeding and protecting from pests, you can help keep your citrus trees looking their best and producing delicious fruit. For more advice, chat with the experts at Yates!
