Story: Taking care of Herald’s Trumpet (Beaumontia grandiflora)
Episode: 1
Presenter: Matt Leacy
Air Date: 7 March 2026

Matt looks at one of his favourite climbing vines and shows you can do to help it thrive.

  • Beaumontia grandiflora also known as Herald’s Trumpet, is a beautiful climbing vine that comes from the same family as the Franjipani.
  • If yours begins to get some yellowing and curling leaves, it’s important to keep an eye on it by cutting it back at the base to improve airflow and reduce humidity.
  • It’s a good idea to step back once you make a cut to ensure you don’t go too far and ruin the aesthetics.
  • It’s also worth fertilising the plant with Troforte M All Purpose, as this will provide the nutrients it may be lacking for the next 3-4 months.
  • This fertiliser slowly releases essential natural minerals that most plants require and will help the plant thrive to the end of Summer and Autumn.
  • Ensure that you water it thoroughly to activate the microbes.
