Trevor offers some helpful tips to maintain the post-winter explosion of growth throughout the warmer periods.

• There’s a window of opportunity in late spring and early summer as there has already been an explosion of growth and colour as plants have emerged from the winter.
• Roses are a good example, as they produce significant growth coming out of winter putting on amazing displays however, the combined draw of energy and nutrients will run out if not sustained. Therefore, it's important to feed your flowering plants now using a complex fertiliser.
• It is also crucial to maintain soil moisture as this sustains microbes and allows plants to grow. Two deep drinks per week for gardens and lawns should sustain them in hot and dry climates.
