Palmetto

Palmetto is a soft-leaf buffalo variety of turf that is the best buffalo lawn variety for Aussie gardens and the number one selling brand of Buffalo in the world.

It has a beautiful emerald-green colour and is not itchy like old buffalo varieties.

Palmetto is the best-performing grass in shaded areas, provided it receives two to three hours of sunlight per day. It will adapt to the increasing shade of maturing landscapes and thrives in full sun as well.

Palmetto is very cold hardy and more tolerant to frost than most other varieties. It continues to hold its colour well in the cooler months if it is fertilised correctly in autumn.

Palmetto is a low-maintenance grass, requiring less mowing than most other varieties of turf. It can be mowed with a rotary mower and leaves no scalp marks. Palmetto is hardy enough to handle normal domestic wear-and-tear and has less thatch than other varieties of buffalo and couch.

Palmetto is a waterwise grass variety and, when well established, is drought tolerant due to its deep root system. It can perform well with two-days-a week deep watering in summer if good soil preparation is provided.

Empire has an eye-catching deep green colour and a fine medium-sized leaf blade. It is best suited to sunny, warm areas but has moderate to good shade tolerance if mown high. Empire is soft to touch and is very child friendly.

Empire is best at out-competing weeds once established and in the unlikely event that it does get weeds, it is very tolerant to most selective weed killers.
