Swanes Nurseries, which most people know and love for their roses has just expanded into another exciting dimension of their gardening business. Their farm at Dural has the most spectacular Lavender farm and is now open to the public.
When you visit Swanes, you will discover over 30 different varieties of lavender on display. They have all the old favourites, and you can also get your hands on a wide range of compact and colourful new releases. Everyone is encouraged to touch and feel the garden classic and enjoy the open, farm like surrounds.
Lavender (Lavandula) is one of those garden plants that conjure up romantic images but Swanes haven?t just stopped there. They have an amazing range of lavender products for you to sample and enjoy.
Lavender has been used for centuries for wonderful fragrance and its essential oil, and at Swanes you can buy a wide range of health and beauty products, from Lavender baby tummy rubs to Lavender furniture polish.
Lavender is of course a great plant for those who want a water sensitive garden, they are both suitable and adaptable to our local climate and Swanes have set about educating all keen gardeners about the beauty and wonder of this much loved plant.

Swanes Lavender Farm at Dural is open to the public and you can visit most days. On November 11th and 12th they will have their next Lavender fair, where you can even try Chicken and Lavender sausages or Lavender scones.
