Waldecks Osborne Park
Episode: #3 16/09/2006
Presenter: Sue McDougall
This year there is so many plants around for nearly any position in the garden that if you aren?t careful you may find yourself buying one of everything that is in the garden centre.
What makes a good garden design great is by using repeat plantings or at the very least plant odd numbers like 3 or 5 of the same plant in a clump. It is better to have less variety in the garden and mass plant them. You will find the garden looks and feels complete.
The people that could help you are the Waldecks Landscaping team who design, build and maintain gardens form scratch or will revamp a tired old garden. They have a special offer for garden gurus viewers: visit www.waldecks.com.au and download the competition entry form. Drop it into your local Waldecks store and you?ll be in the running to win a $20,000 garden makeover. All installed by their professional landscapers.
Don?t forget you can enter as many times as you like and as an added bonus every week there is a draw for a $200 gift voucher to spend on anything you like in the shop.
There are also some fabulous new release plants. Diascias are a very hardy perennial and the new range is no exception. They grow to 30cm high and spread about 50cm wide and will keep flowering for months. Coral Belle has orange flowers with a small bright yellow mark.
Little Dreamer has deep coral pink flowers and Little Dancer has bright pink flowers and they look spectacular when planted in groups of 3 or 5.
Armeria Bees Ruby is a delightful small clump forming plant that looks stunning if planted into a glazed pot or it can be planted to border garden beds. It will only grow to 15cm high and spread 30cm, so will create a soft delicate effect hanging over the side of this pot. Deep cerise coloured flowers cluster together to form impressive round globes during spring. Look out for the variety called Pink Petite, which has mauve-pink flowers.
