The Garden Gurus are passionate about water conservation and the use of water in great garden designs.

We are excited and thrilled to announce the opening of our new display garden titled,'the floating garden'.

The display garden celebrates the use of water in a small garden space and explores the possibilities of water used wisely in the garden.

Our new display garden is located at one of Sydney's largest garden centres, Eden Gardens in North Ryde.

The garden is made up of a series of layers, from drought tolerant plant selections to giant, flowing water pots giving the illusion of a tropical oasis that floats above the water.

The garden space, at only 6 x 6 meters, was designed by the team from the Garden Gurus to demonstrate to you just how much can be achieved in a relatively small space.

The central courtyard is surrounded by flowing water and the scale and proportion of each layer, from paving to, the great palms in pots, adds to the dramatic effect.

The garden is in fact very water conscious and the plants extremely hardy, making them very well suited to our Sydney climate. The result is a simple garden design that echoes of a tropical escape but is not water hungry to maintain and that is something we can all appreciate.

The Floating garden has been constructed in layers, using a variety of limestone products. The design contains both limestone cladding and paving to add a certain depth and softness, to the overall feel of the garden.

The colours used include traditional cream tones but also some great charcoal colours. These contrasting colour choices build the bones of the garden and add to the sense of space created.

The limestone used is new to the Sydney market and they have all been supplied and installed from our friends at Lumeah Limestone.

Tony and the team from AGE Landscapes also worked tirelessly during the cold winter months to bring the design to life. From digging in the mud, to the final finishing touches of each polished pebble, Tony and the boys have been an essential ingredient in bringing you the floating garden.
