Spic n Span Sheds

Episode: #2 09/09/2006
Presenter: Sue
Your Aussie Mate sheds come in a cardboard box and is small enough to fit in the back of a station wagon or on the back of a ute or a trailer.
They are the perfect product for the DIY home handyman or woman. If you're one of those people that hate the thought of anything coming in a cardboard box because you have had previous assembly disasters, don't fear these sheds are made right here in WA, instructions are in English, and are easy to follow. If you happen to get stuck you can call the 7 day a week help line.
The shed kit includes all self drilling screws and fittings for the drill plans and instructions. All you need to supply is a drill. A design feature is the internal framing and securing brackets, which give it the extra strength with a wind rating of W41, and since we live in one of the windiest cities in the world, it is a very important feature.
Once the shed is assembled it can be secured to brick paving, concrete slabs or a solid concrete floor for extra strength.
Another great feature of this shed is the door opening, it is a huge 1m wide and double doors open to 2m wide, which makes storing large items very easy. It means clean up and hiding everything behind the doors can be done quickly.
Having a new shed in the backyard gives you an excuse to create a new garden bed around it. Many people are concerned that the reflection from a newly installed shed wall will damage plants.
A zinc finish is bright and if the shed is assembled in the heat of summer soft delicate plants could be damaged, but zinc will soon oxidise and become dull so it won't be a problem at all after a few months.
Different colourbond colours absorb and reflect light at different rates, and as a general guide light colours reflect the light and heat so plant tough things on a shed wall that is getting the afternoon sun in summer.
You can find Your Aussie mate Sheds through most local hardware stores throughout the state, all packed up in a box ready for you to take home.
