In order to screen off a shed without anything that will become too wide there are many plants that will do this job really well. Pittosporum varieties like Screen Master’’ or ’ James Stirling’ will create an ideal fine leafed cover. You could also try a Murrayia for something a little more exotic. Regular light trims will keep plants in shape but avoid cutting back to the wood, it will only take longer to reshoot. Give your plants a regular feed and of course deep watering and mulching is a must.
Spring is the ideal time for re-potting any plants. The warmer weather really gives any root system a real kick. Before beginning, make sure you have all your ingredients ready to go. Firstly the new pot - a good quality potting mix - this Yates Patio & Tub mix is specially designed for the job. If the plant has been in its pot for a while, try pressing on the sides, this helps to push the roots away and makes it much easier to remove. Once out, you may need to tease the roots, particularly around the base. Put some potting mix in the new pot, place the plant in add more potting mix and sprinkle in some water crystals.
