Hint - Seed Potatoes

Episode: # 10 09/06/07
Presenter: Neville Passmore
One of the easiest crops to grow at this time of year is the humble potato, but not so humble when you consider the Irish economy actually collapsed when a plant disease wiped out the important staple.
Dig a trench into a bed of organically enriched soil then push the seed potatoes into the mix and barely cover them over. As the plants grow, heap the soil or mulch up against the stem as this is where the tubers grow.
When the whole plant dies off and withers, that is the time to treasure hunt for fresh spuds.
