Our Itinerary…
Day 4 Tuesday
As the sun rose, we started on the road to Ben Lomond National Park. Were we in for a surprise! This has to be one of the most unique roads in the country, and not for the faint of heart. Neville motored the CRV carefully up the mountainside to be rewarded with views over the north east of Tasmania.
And once you make it to the top, be prepared for a weathered alpine landscape that during winter is covered in snow. It can be very cold up here, even in the height of summer, so come prepared. http://www.parks.tas.gov.au/natparks/benl/index.html

Making our way carefully down the mountain, we skirted the Tiers and travelled to Woolmers Estate in Longford, stopping in Launceston to pick up Melissa who had flown in from Melbourne to join the crew. http://www.woolmers.com.au/ . Woolmers Estate also houses the National Rose Garden http://www.nationalrosegarden.org.au/
Both are worth the visit! At the National Rose Garden, you will be able to follow the history of rose development from around the world.
