Outdoor living and a great entertaining space are cornerstones of every family home and a well designed space can make all the difference. Dean shows you a solution that he thinks is both practical and stylish.
A design solution for an outdoor entertaining space that works in just about every location is one that allows you to control just how much sun, shade, heat, cold or air flow you have.
Vergola has a system with an operable louvre roof which allows maximise light penetration in, when you need it and maximum shade when you want it the most. This means you can adjust the roof at any time of the day or night, with just a press of a button.
It is really unique and in fact is the first of its kind in the world. Overhead are a series colour bond steel wing shape panels that open and interlock to provide the best in outdoor living and climate control and yes you will remain totally dry when it rains.
The panels are also on an automatic sensor, so as soon as the rain begins, the roof will close. That means the space becomes a seriously usable room, whatever the weather brings and that extends your ability to entertain outdoors.
The Vergola system is of course an Australian Design award winner and it is really not surprising to see why. Another big reason for it being a favourite with the judges is that the system actually improves your energy efficiency within the home, because of its flexibility.
Technical details aside, it simply looks great and would have to add value to a home. Dean loves the idea of being able to lay back and look up at the stars at night or soak in the morning sun or immerse himself in lovely shade.
With the roof shut you can see there is still plenty of natural light and can even feel the natural air flow. It is simple, maintenance free and very, very user friendly.
