With Christmas on our doorstep, what better time to create a potted display to add a touch of personal style to your outdoor festivities.

First the perfect pot; pot shopping can be a little bit overwhelming because there is so much to choose from but if you want great quality and a choice of both classic and modern styles then look for Northcote pots.

To dress up the table and the house for the big day, smaller designs are perfect for table tops, window sills and indoor decoration.

This season there is lots of rich blood red, creamy latte, rusty copper, wasabi green and always in fashion, black. They all come with saucers so you can use them indoors or out.

If you are struggling for last minute ideas, why not choose a great pot and plant it out yourself, it is a nice personal touch.

If you are after something for real food lover then glazed herb or strawberry pots are a sure winner. The combinations are so easy to create. Use a theme like herbs for Asian cooking or perhaps one for adding flavour to Italian dishes. Your family or friends will think of you every time they pick lovely fresh herbs from their pot and of course, the classic strawberry pot will be a favourite with ice-cream, all summer long!

Of course there is more to garden pottery than just pots. Bird Baths, Bird Feeders and Bird Houses are a great way to bring life and colour into the garden.
