Indian Hawthorn

Episode: #13 9/12/06
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

An outstanding water wise plant is the Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepsis indica). It is smothered in beautiful white flowers right through spring and well into summer.

It is incredibly water wise and handles the driest and hottest conditions and most soil types. You can get it in a pink as well as white form.

It grows well in pots, it is brilliant in a garden bed just on its own or you can grow it as an informal garden hedge.
