Western Australia and Israel are seen internationally as world leaders in irrigation innovation. Being on the edge or in the middle of a desert means that water efficiency isn?t just a dream but a necessity of life.

The most efficient watering system available to home gardeners can dramatically reduce water consumption and evaporation, cut weed growth and eliminate water run off and overspray. They can be either do-it-yourself or contractor installed.

The heart of the system is a special tube with 30cm apart pre-spaced inline drippers which allows water to be delivered to the soil direct. Two different diameter pipes are available. The Miniscape for small gardens and pots and Scapeline for larger gardens, lawns and landscaped areas.

Lay out the pipe with spacings of 30cm for sandy soil, 40cm for loam and 50cm for clay. If you have a steep slope, run the dripper lines across the slope rather than up and down.

You can it on use lawns new and existing, garden beds, vegetable patch, the rose garden and it is particularly good value for a verge garden.

To work out the installation flow, from the tap how long does it take to fill a standard 10 litre bucket? This figure can then be used to calculate how many drippers you can run on a single line. Or you can pass this on to an Irrigation retailer to calculate the system for you.

A pressure reducing valve and an inline filter are necessary items for a successful installation.

Whole systems can be automated by connecting to an auto controller and the best of these are produced here in Australia.
