Everyday spring brings more new growth along with it, a hunger. Actively growing plants need nourishment. Plants that have yellow leaves could either be a sign of a mineral deficiency, especially at this time of the year, or over watering could be the problem.
A good rich soil full of manure and organic matter will go a long way but you really can?t go wrong by giving them an extra boost in the form of a liquid feed.
Slow release fertilisers are useful long term but if you need a quick fix for plants with yellow leaves you need to use either a soluble or liquid fertiliser like Thrive Soluble Plant Food. It will go straight to the roots and it can?t hurt to also water the foliage.
As the temperatures rise, so do the enquiries to our website at Garden Gurus.
If you plan on buying new roses, look for disease resistant varieties. If you have already got roses in your garden can use Yates Fungus Gun for systemic control of various fungal diseases including rust/ powdery mildew and black spot under control.
Warm weather is also a trigger for snails to come out of hibernation and they will also be looking for a good feed. Conveniently there is plenty of fresh green food lying around for them to eat. Unfortunately your Garden Guru vegetable seedlings will be a prime target.
You can remove them by hand when they come out during the cool of the day (early morning and at night), surround your vegetables with sawdust or use a pellet which you sprinkle around lightly.
