A visit to a garden centre is always inspiring. Garden centres are definitely the place to go for ideas, inspiration and ambience. You will usually find some stunning plants that you had no idea you needed until you saw them.

One such range of plants are the drop dead gorgeous Clivias. They take your breath away and in the range at Waldecks you will find colours that haven?t been seen before in a Garden Centre. Clivias are the perfect plant for the dry area shaded position where nothing will grow, and while the flowers look exotic and delicate they are almost impossible to kill.

The Belgium Hybrids are all forms of Clivia miniata and have been bred with the focus on huge flowers and extra wide leaves, and in certain varieties the leaves can be up to 15-20cm wide. These plants look truly amazing in a large glazed pot at the front door or as a specimen in the outdoor entertaining area.

Yellow and green throated varieties are very unique and a perfect gift for the gardener who has everything or even the beginner gardener because they are so easy care for. The variegated foliage is a feature all year round. This will definitely brighten up a dull entertaining area. The only thing you need to remember is don?t over water them, they like being on the drier side. Throw some controlled release fertiliser at them at the beginning of each season.
