Your Questions Answered

1. The problem of not having enough seating in the garden can be easily and cheaply fixed. All you need is a large pot, some potting mix and a piece of instant turf

Turn over the turf so the root side is facing up. Now turn your pot upside down on a piece and press down, even twist a little, to leave a big round mark. Grab a sharp knife, a serrated one is best, and cut along the indentation. Take your time. You will finish with a perfect circle.

Next, fill your pot with potting mix to just below the top. Sprinkle some fertilizer and now lay your turf circle on top and press down. Water in well and congratulations; you have just made your very own grass seat.

What a brilliant and novel way to sit and enjoy your garden or maybe just relax and read a book.

2. Aphids can be a real problem. These insects just love new rose shoots and seemingly multiply overnight during spring, while fungal problems like black-spot can really stop the plant from both looking good and doing its best.

A solution to this dual problem is to use a single spray that fixes both. Rose Shield combines a low toxic insecticide to target aphids with an effective fungicide, to inoculate the plant against disease. Measure out, mix with water and spray the entire bush. This is a surefire way of giving your roses a healthy start to the new flowering season.

3. If you have trouble getting packet seeds to grow then look ay buying a low cost Mini Greenhouse.

Using a seed raising mix, fill the cell tray and sow your seed. Water in and put the greenhouse lid firmly on. Then place the unit out of direct sunlight. You now create the absolute best environment to encourage your seeds to germinate. In no time at all, you will be harvesting a stack of your very own seedlings, ready to fill your garden.
