Hoyas or Wax Flowers come in many amazing varieties and originate from wet and dry tropics through Asia the Pacific Islands and Australia, usually growing in shaded conditions.
- Neville takes you inside the home of a Hoya enthusiast.
- The Hoya australis has thick leaves and a large flower cluster of white with spots of pink. It can handle tough conditions due to its succulent foliage which acts as moisture storage.
- They are typically climbing plants which makes them well suited to hanging baskets or trained up some form of trellis like support.
- The best place to grow Hoyas at home is outdoors under shade or indoors with bright but indirect sunlight
- They require high quality, organic rich potting mix that drains well as they don’t do too well with “wet feet”.
